I received a letter from an old friend of my parents the other day. So old school, the letter was written in fountain pen!
"We walked along the coastal path to the village to post this letter. Absolutely beautiful views across the bay to my old school. Sadly it closed in the 1960s, although long after I left, of course.
"Yesterday we swam in the sea after I had played the front nine at the golf club, but then I had a bit of an accident. This new-fangled electric bike my boys bought me does not agree with me. I had ridden it to the pub and on the way back I fell off.
"In the hospital I discovered that I had broken one of my limbs"
Which limb had my parent's old friend broken?
Given that the friend had walked to the village neither leg was broken. The letter was handwritten by someone who attended school in the 1950s at the earliest, so the right arm was probably intact. Leaving the left arm as the broken limb.
