Over a glass of red in The Jolly Quizmaster a young lady was talking to the Quiz Master Shop team about the ages of her family.
Apparently, nine years previously her sister's age was twice her age, and her mother's age was twice her sister's age. Furthermore, in nine years time her sister's age will be twice her age now, and in five years time her mother's age will be three times her age now.
How old is she?
The young lady is 22, and her sister and mother are 35 and 61, respectively.
Nine years before their ages were 13, 26 and 52.
In nine years time the sister will be 44, twice our drinking companion's current age.
And in five years time the mother will be 66, three times the young lady's age now.
