Living Chess Quiz Puzzle Answer

In the village near Quiz Master Shop Towers a game of Living Chess has been organised against the nearest village, all in aid of charity.

By extraordinary coincidence (isn't that always the way of it in puzzles!) Mr King, Mr Queen, Mr and Mrs Rook, Mr and Mrs Knight and Mr and Mrs Bishop are the pieces, and children named Katie King, Quentin Queen, Rick and Rose Rook, Ken and Kath Knight, and Bill and Babs Bishop are the pawns.

None of the 16 people have been assigned a position corresponding to their name. So Mr Bishop is on neither of the bishops' squares, and Rose Rook is not the pawn in front of either of the rooks.

Kath is two places to the left of Rose.

Babs is a knight's move from Mr Rook.

Mrs Bishop is a knight's move from her niece.

Rick is a knight's move from Mrs Knight.

Mr and Mrs Knight stand side by side.

Mr and Mrs Bishop also stand side by side.

Ken is a knight's move from his father.

Mr Queen, who is a knight's move from Rick, has a female child in front of him.

Bill is a knight's move from Mrs Rook, who stands next to her sister.

Mr Rook is a knight's move from Quentin.

Rick has a girl to his right.

Babs has a boy to her right.

How are the sixteen people arranged?

From the Queen's Rook square: Mr Queen, Mr King, Mr Rook, Mrs Rook, Mrs Knight, Mr Knight, Mr Bishop and Mrs Bishop.

From the pawn in front of the Queen's Rook: Babs Bishop, Bill Bishop, Rick Rook, Kath Knight, Quentin Queen, Rose Rook, Kitty King and Ken Knight.
