Quiz Master Shop supplies quizzes all over the world, and to illustrate this fact our most loyal customer is situated in Thailand. Specifically, in the Jomtien Beach area of Pattaya. Customers since July 2018 (just after we launched), they recently bought their one thousandth quiz round from us – an amazing 10,000 questions supplied to them!
Hemingways was founded in the Autumn of 2016, and is a sports pub and restaurant catering for both the Thai and ex-pat community in their locality. The food is mainly British and they show sports from around the world – the State of Origin, the Super Bowl, the Premier League and Formula One Grands Prix amongst the offerings. There is a thriving golf society, and the Friday Night pool competition is hotly contested.
The Monday Night Quiz is an integral part of Hemingways’ targeted entertainment – free to enter with free snacks at half time, it is always well attended, and very hotly contested. And the team names are good too, with Arai Gadai, Barfinders, Talay Terrors, Brexiteers, Quizzards of Dross and Gary Kant Spel all winning in the past.
Hemingways is run by Robert Cameron who was working in Thailand in Operations Management and opened a restaurant in 2015 as a hobby. The pandemic forced the restaurant’s closure, but Robert has continued his passion for food and beverages by taking over at Hemingways when it reopened post Covid-19.
“I was extremely apprehensive when faced with doing my first ever pub quiz to a full house, however, the ease of using the quiz master shop website along with the diversity and accuracy of the quiz round questions makes ever quiz night a resounding success for both us and our customers” Robert adds.
Judging by the frequent posts on social media, Hemingways is a popular and lively venue every night of the week. All in all, it looks like a great place to visit if you’re in the area, especially on a Monday evening for the quiz.
