A while ago we wrote a tip on prizes at your quiz night, which you can read here. However, one of our setters went to a new quiz recently, and the quizmaster had a novel approach to the prizes.
At this quiz a member of the winning team had to select one from three envelopes. In one envelope was a voucher to win the jackpot (we’ve also written a tip on jackpots, which you can read here), another envelope contained a £10 note, and the final envelope contained a voucher for a packet of crisps.
And since you ask, yes, her team did win, and yes, she did get the bag of crisps!
We should say that regardless of the envelope chosen the team did all receive a free drink from the bar.
We thought that this was an interesting idea that is worth sharing. Were you to adopt this approach there is no reason to stick to three envelopes; you could use any number. And the contents would be your choice as well.
