With the Rugby Union season drawing to a close we have a Rugby Union-based puzzle.
After the "Clock has gone Red", that is, the playing time has gone past 80 minutes, is there a maximum number of points that a team can score, and if so, what is the limit?
Theoretically there is no limit!
If a team scores a try, and after the try is scored the other team commits a penalty offence, the game will restart with a penalty kick on the centre of the halfway line. The team can take a tap penalty and run the ball or kick to touch for a lineout, and subsequently score another try.
And if the other team commits a penalty offence after that try is scored, the process would continue, ad infinitum!
