One of our question writers went to a quiz and the first round was a Music Round. Twenty songs, one point for the artist and one for the title. One of the teams included a DJ who got them all - scoring 40 points, fifteen more than the next best team, and there were only six more rounds.
Game over, and a very flat quiz from then on.
So, if you have a Music Round (and see our earlier blog) while it’s very tempting to award one point for the title and one point for the artists, this can skew things in favour of the music experts.
Either award half a point for the title and half a point for the artists, or have a decent number of other rounds. Probably the former.
